| When Ibanez first
started, they were experts in creating Ibanez
acoustic guitars. The first guitars made by Ibanez
were Spanish style acoustics. The factory where the
first Ibanez guitars were created was destroyed in the
spanish civil war. Hoshino Gakki was so fond of these
guitars that he bought the rights and continued creating
them and the rest is history.
The huge success of Fender
electric guitars and Gibson
guitars helped Ibanez make the decision to start
creating the Ibanez electric guitar. These first Ibanez
electric guitars were merely copies of the more popular
Fender and Gibson Guitars and soon lawsuits were filed
halting the production of these copies. This forced
the Ibanez designers to come up with their own ideas.
Ibanez electric guitars really started to take off
in the early 1980's when Hoshino Gakki's relationship
with Steve
Vai became more solid and the Ibanez Jem was born.
Steve Vai used the Ibanez electric guitar exclusively
and that is quite a statement to the quality, sound
and design of The Ibanez Electric guitar.
Today Ibanez offers many different electric guitar models.

style or budget may be. Some of the most popular are
